Live at The Bradbury: FUTURE HUMANS SALON — “Extraterrestrial Matter & the Origins of Life”

We’re excited to spotlight an event that was held in the futuristic setting of the Bradbury Building, a landmark that has long inspired visions of tomorrow. This salon highlighted a thought-provoking look at the evolving relationship between science, storytelling, and space.

Hosted by the Berggruen Institute, this unique gathering explores the mysteries of planetary materials, meteorites, cosmic dust, and ancient rocks, and the stories they tell about the origins of life both on Earth and beyond. As the 2030s approach, and with missions returning samples from Mars and Phobos, this conversation has never been more timely.

The evening featured a presentation by historian and philosopher of science Charlotte Bigg, followed by a conversation with Lois Rosson, a curator and scholar whose work bridges science and art through institutions like NASA and the Smithsonian. Together, they delved into how we interpret extraterrestrial materials and what they reveal about life in the cosmos.

Stay tuned for more events and stories coming from our co-working community!

Office and co-working members of the Bradbury Building enjoy convenient access to regular programming at The Wyman Bar as well as the ability to reserve private conference rooms.  Individual and small company memberships are available.
