Jazz Nights at Wyman Bar
For 15 years, The Varnish was more than a bar, it was an escape. Behind an unmarked door in the back of Cole’s, guests found candlelight, vintage décor, jazz that carried into the night, and cocktails that defined an era. It became a place where one drink turned into hours of conversation and new friendships. On July 3, 2024, The Varnish closed its doors, leaving behind a legacy that shaped Downtown LA’s cocktail culture.
But its heartbeat continues. Marc Gasway, the in-house bassist and musical director who gave The Varnish its soulful soundtrack, has already graced Wyman Bar inside the iconic Bradbury Building on several occasions. Looking ahead, we’re excited to grow Wyman Bar’s Jazz Night into a destination for those who cherished The Varnish, where guests can relive that same nostalgic magic of candlelight, cocktails, and timeless live music.
“Office and co-working members of the Bradbury Building enjoy convenient access to regular programming at The Wyman Bar as well as the ability to reserve private conference rooms. Individual and small company memberships are available.”
